up-and-coming creative in London

— Tom Ffiske

I am so ecstatic to share that my xmas project (reindeer creative ego) (https://vimeo.com/656367318) and I have been mentioned in ‘the Immersive Wire’ (https://www.immersivewire.com/) a biweekly newsletter containing ‘rigorous and high-quality analysis’ of the ‘VR, AR, and the metaverse’ by the bestselling immersive reality industry author Tom Ffiske, I am referred to as an ‘up - and- coming creative in London’.

Selected for the Calm Art Collective X Connor Brothers exhibition @The Other Art Fair!

The acceptance, painting, winging and beautification of my hitherto despised body into a state of magic and desirability. I’ve become the ‘belle dame’ of Keats’ poem and I am claiming and staking my faery-hood. In 2011 I had the ‘perfect’ figure I now eternally wish to regain. I dressed up as the Belle Dame from Keats’ poem for a Halloween party and snapped into various love triangles. Even though I was the Belle Dame, I was crying on the phone to my mother like any woebegone knight.
As part of my self-celebration, I’ve been pursuing bellydancing. I bought my first pair of fairy wings ever, as an experimental character costume. I then started to customise them with my face. I then saw the brief for this exhibition. I picked up the wings again and remembered how I dressed up as the Belle Dame with Keats’ signature forged on my clavicle. I still had my ‘wild wild eyes’ in my studio, which were a pair of plastic pink strip heart glasses. I felt wings grow on my back and wanted to show my wings. ‘La Belle Dame’ - Vaidehi Bhargava, 2020, 65cm x 95.5cm, mixed media (acrylic and ink) on canvas
For me art is an ecstatic magical gloriously colourful adventure!
